RULES AND REGULATIONS

Rule Changes:

 

Rule 0-Membership Class

1.       The following are definitions of various participants within PYLP:

a.       Owner—The person(s) who is registered with EPalaces as the owner.  This person is responsible for maintaining the monthly payments and has access to all records, databases, and commands.

b.      Co-owner—This person has all privileges listed above but is not responsible for making payments.  A co-owner may be designated owner, whether temporarily or permanently by the owner.

c.       OperatorThis is a moderator position.  They have access to most scripting commands and can run any game that requires the use of a wizard. Any wizard may be designated as an owner or co-owner.

d.      Board Member—These people do not have operator capacities, but they do provide input on games, member discipline, and other issues as designated by the owner/operator/peers.  Board members shall serve a 4 month term.  Board members may serve consecutive terms.  There will be a minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) board members at any one time.

e.      Member—Basic member who has no specific responsibilities.  Any person(s) who enter PYLP Studios and do not meet one of the above guidelines are considered members.

 

Rule 1—Rights and Regulations

1.       All games and formats are the property of their respective production companies, excluding original formats, which are outlined below.

a.       Mark Odor—Cash Infusion, Price is Right original games;

b.      Marc Green—Circuit Breaker, Price is Right original game

c.       Mike Klauss—Split Prices, It’s in the Chips, 100 Keys, Price is Right original games

2.       All other graphics on the server belong to the person who created them.

3.       Reproduction of graphics or games belonging to these individuals is prohibited.  If you would like to use their graphics for another purpose, you are encouraged to contact that individual. 

4.       No infringement on any of the above listed entities is allowed.  If you have been unintentionally omitted, please contact the owner.

5.       All efforts will be made to post updates on the Forums.  “Not knowing the rule” will not be an acceptable excuse.  An ample effort will be made to ensure members know of any changes. However, they are subject to change without notice.

6.       Original pilots may be held in Palace.  However, all liability resides with the person holding the pilot.  PYLP Studios, its owner(s) and its staff assume no liability of fallout for what may happen once a pilot is hosted.  Upon hosting a pilot, you release the staff and its owner(s) from any future problems, now and forever.

a.       Pilots for known formats may only be held with permission of the owner.

7.       Members are more than welcome to create graphics/sets.  However, there is no guarantee that those sets/graphics will be used in the future, or at all.  You may want to contact the original graphic creator to see if they mind you freshening up their work.

8.       All persons listed in rule 0 who defame PYLP Studios and/or cause other actions deemed detrimental to PYLP Studios, its staff, or its members will be appropriately sanctioned.

 

Rule 2—Sportsmanship Principles

1.       All members are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship.  Examples of poor sportsmanship:

a.       Excessive yelling designed to annoy or belittle other guests.

b.      Quitting in the middle of a game due to performance, or performance about ones partner.

c.       Stewing in the lobby, or elsewhere, about game results.

d.      Publicly complaining about ones partner in a tandem game.

e.      Quitting immediately after a loss in a game (defined as immediately leaving, without so much as a “thank you” or “good game”).

f.         It is not appropriate for people to openly complain about the person hosting prior to the game being played.  Any issues you may have can be brought up AFTER the game to an operator, or post it on the Forums.

g.      This list is not all-inclusive and is subject to operator/owner discretion.

 

Rule 3-Gamesmanship Principles

  1. It is considered courtesy to allow a schedule primetime event to commence without preemption.  If there is not sufficient interest within 15 minutes of the scheduled primetime event, another game may be announced.
  2. It is appropriate for more than one game to be hosted concurrently.  (i.e. Press Your Luck and Lingo occurring at the same time)
  3. Asking participants in one game to quit that game and ask them to play in another is not allowed.
  4. Quitting in the middle of one game to participate in another is strictly forbidden.
  5. It is also considered courteous to allow ample time for hosts to gather players in non-primetime events.  It is asked you wait 5 minutes before PUBLICLY announcing you are doing something else, you may private message others regarding your intentions.
  6. Operators have the discretion whether or not they wish to plug a game.
  7. During primetime or “marquee” events, hosts may designate a panel of their choosing or hold a qualifying round to ensure a quality game will be played.
  8. All new games must be submitted to the owner/staff before work will commence.  Operators are exempt from this process.
  9. Operators and members are encouraged to contact the owners of the graphics BEFORE beginning on new work replacing the old.  Someone put the time and effort in to create it; please respect this..
  10. Cheating is not permitted, and will result in a lengthy penalty.
  11. Modifying game rules that deliberately bypass rules placed for a reason, or after being told you may not change them will result in a suspension of hosting privileges.
  12. If, after a period of time, a host proves him/herself not to be competent in hosting a particular activity, that host may be asked to:

a.                   Cease hosting that particular game

b.                  Accept “training” from an experienced host in an effort to better their hosting skills.

c.                   Any host that attempts to circumvent this request is subject to a kick or complete hosting ban. Furthermore, games hosted by that individual   will not count towards stats.

 

Rule 4—Language, courtesy, and conduct

1.       Inappropriate language is not acceptable at all, and includes these words:

a.       Fuck (in excessive quantities)

b.      Bitch

c.       Whore

d.      Ni**er, or any variant of this

e.      Any other word determined derogatory to any individual or group of people.

2.       Members shall not make demeaning comments towards an individuals’ religion, sexual orientation, gender, or race.

3.       Using the Lord’s name [or any other god] in vain is prohibited.  Please respect individuals’ religious beliefs by not violating this policy.

4.       Any death threat (that is deemed serious) towards any member shall automatically constitute a lifetime ban, a report to your IP, and possible police action.

5.       ANTI-SEMATIC COMMENTS ARE PROHIBITED. SUCH COMMENTS ARE GROUNDS FOR AN IMMEDIATE KILL OF AN UNDETERMINED LENGTH.  REPEATED ANTI-SEMATIC COMMENTS WILL LEAD TO A PERMANENT BAN.

6.       Excessive gibberish to clog up the log is disallowed.  This includes excessive sound playing.

7.       Jokes regarding a person’s residence are not considered offensive

8.       Access an unauthorized area (i.e. accessing locked rooms through Phalanx) is not allowed. 

9.       The operators reserve the right to kick any user for any reason not outlined in the rules, within reason.

1.       Coming in and going on a “room romp” (going through all the rooms) is not allowed, and will result in first a warning, then a kick.

2.       A “0” minute kill is customary (and a joke) if a horrible joke/pun/riddle is made. 

3.       Operators reserve the right to act upon any action(s) not specifically covered in the rules. All rules are subject to individual staff member interpretation.

4.       An explanation is not required for a kick.  Act properly, and you won’t have to worry about this.

5.       Information from sporting events, game shows, etc. may be spoiled. If you wish to avoid said conversation, you may wish to avoid PYLP Studios or at least the lobby.

6.       Members shall exercise caution in making comments.  Making borderline comments is a risky area. If you think it might be improper or disrespectful, you are better off not saying it at all.

a.       Members who fail to exercise caution will receive a kick.

 

 

Rule 5—Avatars/Names/Props

1.       Avatars shall not demean another member.

2.       Avatars shall not be offensive.

3.       Names shall not demean another member.

4.       The name “New Friend” is not permitted.  You are expected to create a unique handle for yourself.  If you come in as “New Friend” and do not identify yourself, you will be kicked.

5.       Anonymous guests/names aren’t allowed. “Member x” will be kicked upon entering.

6.       Members shall not modify props (i.e. TPiR cards, Lingo balls).

7.       Members shall use their normal name whenever possible. If a person enters PYLP Studios with an unrecognizable name, they will be asked to declare.  Refusal to do so will result in a kill.

 

Rule 6—Rules in games

1.       It is illegal to give a list of clues in the Super Password Bonus Round.  The player must respond before another clue is given.  Top announced prize is forfeited if an illegal clue is given.

2.       “Coined” words are illegal in any aspect of Super Password. (“McGuire’s” is not a legal clue for Marks, nor would “Collyers” be a legal clue for “Bud”).

3.       You will be ridiculed for making poor decisions in a game of Palace Price is Right, latitude from rule 3.1 will not extended in these cases.

4.       Games may not be protested.  If a user has a legitimate complaint, contact the owner.

5.       All games that have report forms need to be reported immediately upon conclusion of the game.

6.       A host has discretion whether or not he wishes to use a qualifier for larger, primetime games.

7.       If you are not familiar with rules of a game, please do not volunteer to be a celebrity.

8.       At a host’s discretion, they may remove a player that is performing very poorly, to the extent he is causing his “civilian” partner a serious handicap.  Hosts must use good discretion in using this rule. 

9.       Pyramid main game time is 75 seconds; the bonus 2 minutes.

10.   Not all Price is Right games will use the “tricks” used on the real show.

11.   Scrabble Sprint round uses 4 words.

12.   A host may cancel a primetime show prior to its start for any reason.

13.   In Press Your Luck, players are expected to keep their own score, in their name.

Rule 7—Misc. and Privacy Statement

 

  1. All persons in rule 0-1c-1e consent to all rules above and below.
  2. By being a member, you release all operators and the owner(s) from any legal liability. 
  3. Your IP address may be tracked.  Abuse of the server/others may result in your ISP being contacted.
  4. Your email address, nor any other contact information will not be shared with anyone; nor sold or given to any third party.
